Preserving worlds through words.
Yannick Marszalek
Ph.D. Candidate & Graduate Researcher
Yannick Marszalek is a graduate philosopher (M.A.) currently working on his Ph.D. at the University of Heidelberg under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Fuchs. In his dissertation, he explores the relation between the fear of death and the (in)conceivability of the annihilation of the self. He previously studied and worked as a research assistant and tutor in the Philosophy Department at the University of Konstanz, and also holds a B.A. and M.A. in Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences in Konstanz.
His research interests lie at the intersection of philosophy and psychology, the philosophy of mind, phenomenology, the philosophy of religion, and existential philosophy, with a particular focus on the topics of fear and anxiety, personal identity, and death. He is currently conducting independent research, working on philosophical publications, and has presented early results of his Ph.D. at international conferences.
